Introduction to Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad is a franchise cricket team participating in the 2024 IPL season. For IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad has Daniel Vettori as its coach and Pat Cummins as its captain. Sunrisers Hyderabad first played in the IPL in 2013, reaching fourth place.

The team was able to grab its first win during IPL 2016, defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the title. 

Overview of Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad team was created in 2012 after the team Deccan Chargers was removed from the IPL. Sun TV Network, which is one of India's biggest television networks, won the bid for the team with a five-year deal for ₹85.05 Crores. 

Team History

Sunrisers Hyderabad debuted in IPL 2013 after the team Deccan Chargers was disbanded due to financial troubles.

Seasons 6 and 7: 2013 and 2014

Sunrisers Hyderabad made their IPL debut in 2013, retaining 20 players from the Deccan Chargers. In 2013, the team reached the playoffs but was eliminated in their match against the team Rajasthan Royals.

In the 2014 season, the team was unable to reach the playoffs, being eliminated at 6th place.

Seasons 8: 2015 

For the 2015 season, the team reached 6th place once again, with 7 wins and 7 losses.

Seasons 9 and 10: 2016 and 2017 

The team Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the 2016 season with 11 wins and 6 losses.

For the 2017 season, the team finished in 3rd place after losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator match.

Seasons 11, 12, and 13: 2018, 2019, and 2020 

In 2018, the team was the season runners-up, after losing to the Chennai Super Kings in the final.

For 2019, the team lost the eliminator match against the Delhi Capitals and ended the season with 6 wins and 9 losses.

During the 2020 season, the team once again lost to the Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2 round.

Seasons 14 and 15: 2021 and 2022 

The Sunrisers Hyderabad team ended seasons 14 and 15 in last place, placing 8th in both 2021 and 2022.

Season 16: 2023 

Sunrisers Hyderabad ended the 2023 season in 10th place.

Achievements and Trophies

Sunrisers Hyderabad reached fourth place during its first IPL season. The team was able to grab its first win during IPL 2016, defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the title. It reached the finals of IPL 2018. 

David Warner has won the Orange Cap in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the leading wicket-taker who won the Purple Cap in 2016.
